Located in the southwest of Zhapo, Mawei Island is a semi-enclosed island with a total area of 1.3 square kilometers and a beach length of about 1.25 kilometers. The water depth is moderate, the seabed is smooth, and the sand quality is excellent. The Beidi Temple in Mawei Island, which is safely in the sea, is dedicated to the "Water God" Beidi. Fishermen always come here to worship incense religiously for safety. It is worth mentioning the "Horsetail Evening Sun", which is the westernmost corner of the island and the best place to watch the sunset. When the night is full of clouds, many tourists stop here to wait. The island is rich in forest vegetation, with strange stones all over, insects flying and butterflies, and tree-lined trails winding, retaining a very strong original atmosphere. The mountain was scoured and carved by the waves for thousands of years, forming strange landscapes such as rocky beaches, sea erosion beaches, and Yixiantian. In addition to viewing the Northern Emperor Temple, Lingyue Ling Temple and lighthouse, there are also military sites such as bunkers, trenches, ancient forts. In 1992 and 1994, Mawei Island was approved as a provincial scenic spot and a provincial tourist resort by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government.
